Balance Your Chakras With Chakra Diet

Our diet and what we fuel our body is connected to our Chakra system. Whenever one or all of your chakras are out of balance you might do well to look if you are not eating or overeating the foods that fuel that particular chakra. The food choices you make can impact the Chakra system. By balancing your diet you can balance your Chakras. We have made a list of foods you can eat that nourishes each of the Chakras. (This list is for informational purpose, please consult with your doctor first if you have any health issues).

Crown Chakra

The crown chakra is your connection with the Divine or you’re Higher Self. Keep this pathway clean and clear. The color for this Chakra is Violet, eat purple foods to help balancing your Crown Chakra. Detoxing and fasting will give your body a break from food and help rest your Crown Chakra. You should not undergo strict detox regimen unless you feel that is appropriate and you are healthy enough to do so.

This Chakra is more spirit than earth, so its nourishment really comes from sources other than food, including love and a strong connection to the divine. You should eat light meals, Juicing fresh fruits and vegetables, drink a lot of water. Engaging in a spirit-boosting activity like meditation can energize your crown chakra.

Third Eye Chakra

This center houses your intuition or sixth sense. Represented by the color indigo, eating bluish or purple foods will help this center gain clarity and focus. You can eat blackberries, black currants, blueberries, red or purple grapes, prunes and raisins. Drinks made from grapes like juice or red wine are also helpful.

Throat Chakra

The throat chakra loves to be bathed by liquids so make sure you have an adequate intake of fluids every day. Pure water, herbal teas and natural fruit juices will help to balance this Chakra. Fruits that grow on trees: apples, apricots, peaches, pears and plums. Lemons and limes are excellent for clearing out stuck energy in this chakra. Add some lemon or lime juice to your water to get that energy moving.

Heart Chakra

If you want an energetic heart chakra, remember to eat your greens. Practically any green vegetable like broccoli, kale, kelp, lettuces, spinach and sprouts will boost this area. Green teas are another awesome choice. If you like smoothies, opt for a green one to really boost your chakra vibrations.

Solar Plexus

This Chakra transforms raw fiery energy into action and is your source of self-esteem. Eating yellow foods like yellow peppers, corn, yellow lentils, yellow curry, and bananas can help to clear and balance this chakra. Since this chakra converts energy, it needs foods that are not absorbed too quickly, so avoid sugar, white flour, and processed foods,

Sacral Chakra

The second chakra’s element is water, so pure water is the best thing to clear and heal this chakra. Be sure to keep hydrated by drinking water or teas to balance this chakra. The color of this chakra is orange, so orange foods like carrots, oranges, and orange juice, can be healing. Juicy fruits can also help to charge this chakra, so have some melon, mango, or strawberries for a boost.

Root Chakra

The Root Chakra is your connection to the physical world. Since it is all about grounding you to the earth, root vegetables are a good choice. Beets, rutabagas, garlic, ginger, turnips, potatoes, and parsnips are just a few of the many options for root veggies. Try them roasted with salt and olive oil for an easy grounding meal. Protein, especially red meat, is also grounding, and red food like apples or pomegranates corresponds with the color of this chakra and can help to recharge your roots.
